Speech-Language Pathologist, part-time

East Bay Innovation Academy (EBIA) is proud to be a free public charter school bringing project-based curriculum, social emotional emphasis, design thinking, and blended learning to students in Oakland, California. 

You will
  • Assess and treat children with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.  
  • Administer speech/language evaluations, tests, or examinations to school age children to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written and oral tests and special instruments.
  • Develop and implement IEP’s for problems such as stuttering, delayed articulation, delayed language, swallowing disorders, and inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems.
  • Monitor student’s progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Observe, evaluate, and prepare quarterly progress reports and annual/triennial reports for each student.   Completes all required records, keeping each student’s IEP updated on the appropriate timelines.
  • Serve as a member of IEP teams and 504 meetings
  • Maintain records pertinent to the special education program for the state reports and program accountability.
You are
  • Have a valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential
  • Successful in creating programs and in researching and implementing best practices
  • Experienced in working with IEP teams
  • Committed to equality and a belief that diversity is essential
You might also have
  • An interest in project based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or blended learning
  • Knowledge of another language

The compensation for this role ranges 14-20 hours a week at $85-115 per hour.
