You are a dynamic and optimistic youth Supervisor, with a strong belief that all students can learn at the highest levels. You want to create a safe and structured on-site learning community for a stable cohort of up to 14 students, helping students succeed and being part of the solution for families during distance learning.

We are preparing a diverse group of students to be successful in college and to be thoughtful engaged citizens who are leaders and innovators in a 21st century global world. East Bay Innovation Academy (EBIA) is proud to be a free public charter school bringing project-based curriculum, social emotional emphasis, design thinking, and blended learning to 6th - 12th grade students in Oakland, California.

You will
  • Lead, supervising a stable cohort of no more than 14 EBIA students on campus while they attend virtual school with their teachers and peers via Zoom
  • Protect, ensuring that students understand COVID-19 safeguards, why they are important, and adhere to them at all times
  • Build community, hosting socially distanced, safe, recreational time during lunch and after school
  • Grow, expanding your practice with the support of administration and colleagues
You have
  • Experience leading middle and high school students, preferably in Oakland
  • Confidence with establishing clear structures and a culture of care
  • A reputation for dependability and consistency
  • A commitment to equity and a belief that diversity is essential
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, ready to create and iterate, to adopt new technologies and to blaze trails
You might also have
  • Experience as a camp counselor, youth group leader, or instructional aide
  • An understanding of the COVID-19 public health recommendations, and experience creating safe environments in the pandemic
  • Experience on Zoom and other virtual platforms
  • Knowledge of another language
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position and includes benefits. Working hours are 8:30-5:30 while school is in session.  Learn more about us at www.eastbayia.org
