Are you interested in preparing students to be the innovators and leaders? East Bay Innovation Academy is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and passionate Instructional Aide for our program.
 

East Bay Innovation Academy is a 6-12 college preparatory public charter school in Oakland, CA with a mission of preparing a diverse group of students to be successful in college and to be thoughtful, engaged citizens who are leaders and innovators in a 21st century global world.  Through personalization and project-based learning, social-emotional learning and design thinking, and by leveraging best practices in curriculum design and technology, EBIA engages students in rigorous, 21st Century work.  We serve a diverse population of students, representing the racial, cultural, and socio-economic diversity of the Bay Area.
 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • INNOVATIVE: Create safe and structured spaces during lunch, recess, and dismissal by modeling positive behavior, supporting conflict resolution, and fostering restorative practices.

  • ENTREPRENEURIAL: Promote EBIA’s mission and values by ensuring campus safety and order, identifying hazards, and supporting school-wide systems.

  • COLLABORATIVE: Partner with staff to provide seamless supervision, contribute to school protocols, and support a culture of high expectations for all students.

  • OPTIMISTIC: Build strong, positive relationships with students, using every interaction as an opportunity to encourage, engage, and foster belonging.

  • ENGAGING: Bring energy and attentiveness to every part of campus life—supervising, resolving conflicts, or supporting daily student routines—while strengthening community beyond the classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS
 
Required
  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good judgement and problem solving ability while remaining neutral
  • Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages.
  • 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, teaching assistant, or yard duty. 
Preferred
  • Working knowledge of another language.
  • Knowledge of project based learning, social-emotional learning, and blended/optimized learning.
